From Now On

From now on my blog will be about day to day life with our 3 amazing children. I truly believe Haiden is recovered because we are managing his PDD-NOS with diet, supplements, and an overall healthier lifestyle.
Speaking of diet, I will also continue to post any new recipes we find or come up with. We have been eating a lot of the same thing lately so it is about time for some new recipes :).

Haiden has been doing EXTREMELY well at school and we are counting down the days to the end of his Kindergarten year. He has started his 3rd soccer season and makes us proud every game. He works hard and has a great attitude. Below is a picture of him after scoring his first goal of the season.

Our little princess, Ella, continues to be just that...a princess. It seems that in the past 6 months she has all of a sudden grown up into a little girl. She is still very strong willed and stubborn but makes us laugh everyday. She loves helping me out around the house and playing with her babies. She reminds me so much of me. I know, we are in trouble :).

Our little Mason man is also growing up way too fast! He is pulling himself to stand up and getting into everything. He sure does know how to get his way too.

I have been receiving several emails and messages from other moms who are recovering their child from autism or have just started this journey. I enjoy hearing from parents who feel inspired by Haiden's story because that has been my hope for this blog. So Thank You biomedical parents for sharing your stories! A better life is possible!

Four Years Ago

Dear Haiden,

Four years ago you were sick all the time. Four years ago you had rashes all over your body. Four years ago you couldn't communicate your wants and needs. Four years ago you couldn't transition from one activity to another without a meltdown. Four years ago you didn't want to play with other children. Four years ago you didn't know how to play with toys. Four years ago you wouldn't touch certain things because you couldn't stand how they felt. Four years ago your little world was a very scary place. Four years ago they said you had autism. Four years ago we said you were awesome and deserved a better life. So four years ago we started our biomedical journey.
Today you are healthy. Today you don't have rashes all over your body. Today you talk to us all the time about your wants, needs, likes, dislikes, thoughts, and dreams. Today you go place to place with ease and enjoy going to parks, school, the store, grandparents, and friends houses. Today you have a lot of friends that you love to play with. Today you love music, sports, trains, running, pretending, and playing. Today you will get messy and care less about it. Today you are a very happy little boy. Today we were told that you would be in the general education classroom for 1st grade. Today we still think you are awesome. And today I can say, "You have recovered from autism!"
Mommy and Daddy love you so much! We are so proud of how hard you have fought through all of this. You have no idea how many lives you changed.
Love Always,
Mommy and Daddy

Home Grown Goodness

We have been super busy around the McKinney house! Enjoying this wonderful spring weather, keeping the kidos entertained over Haiden's Spring Break, the start of soccer season, launching my new website, starting our garden (thanks to my wonderful hubby), celebrating Easter, and all the other daily tasks of life with 3 little blessings.
Haiden has also started taking vitamins and supplements again. He is taking Kirkman multivitamins, Kirkman probiotics, amino acids, oil of oregano, calcium, and digestive enzymes. The digestive enzymes have been AMAZING! Even though I believe that eating whole foods is vital to our children's health, every once in a while it would be nice to not worry about what he is eating. With these enzymes, that has been possible!

Here are some pics of our garden! This is just the start. So far my hubby planted herbs, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and strawberries.

Here are our herbs; thyme, cilantro, basil, and rosemary. Do you have a garden? What have you planted?
